SafetyFast! Notes – Jul 2016

What has been going on then? Well..

MGs on Grass 1 – With only eight entries we were finished by lunchtime and retired to the pub for a relaxing and sociable lunch. Thanks to Victoria and Peter Jones for continuing to run this event. So why the low entry? Maybe it’s the issue of cow pats; I must learn to wash the car as soon as I get home.

Wye Valley Social Run – A well supported event with 24 crews soaking up the delights of a sunny day out in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Thanks to Terry and Freya Davies for organising an enjoyable day. Jim Lott has produced a write up of the event with photos on Facebook.

Silverstone California Cup Autotest – The Centre continue to run the autotest but with only 22 entries it was only just viable. Both the newcomers in MG Maestros and some experienced Midget autotesters seemed to enjoy the new tests.

Whats going on this month?

July 10 – Centre Picnic at Barrington Court, a National Trust house and garden near Ilminster, we are gathering from 10:30am and Alan Diamond has secured some MG parking in front of the main entrance to the house.

July 24 – Auto Aero Day at Cotswold airport. Organised by Tony Blake,if you’re interested in classic planes this should be a good event.

July 31 – MGs on Grass 2. A fun grass autotest held on a flat grass field near Yatton. Suitable for first times driving and MG as well as the more seasoned competitor.
