SafetyFast! notes – January 2018

As these are the notes for the January 2017 edition of Safety Fast, I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.

 

South West Centre Drivers Championship 2017.

The results of all of the SW Centre events have been collated and checked and the results are: –

Overall Champion, Ian Beningfield (MG Midget)

2nd Overall, Neil Lock (MG BGT)

3rd Overall, Jim Lott (MGF, MG Metro Turbo)

 

Class 1 – Vintage, MMM, S, V & W – A 4 way tie this year so not awarded

Class 2 – Y, T, Z, Farina & Magnette – Dave Coppock MG TC

Class 3 – Midget, AH Sprite, Arkley – Ian Beningfield MG Midget

Class 4 – MG A, B, C, V8, RV8 – Neil Lock MG B

Class 5 – MGF, MGTF – Tony Blake MG TF

Class 6 – FWD MGs – Andrew Till (MG ZR)

The prizes and awards will be presented at our first event of 2018, the Dinner and Awards Evening on the 24th February 2018.  Once again the event will be held at the Limpley Stoke Hotel, near Bath.  Details of how to book are on the website.

The committee are putting together the event calendar for 2018 and these are the dates confirmed so far: –

Saturday 24th February – Annual Dinner and Awards Evening, Limpley Stoke.

Tuesday 6th March 2018 – South West Centre AGM, Compton Martin.

Saturday 7th April 2018 – Kimber Classic Trial, Lanes Hotel, West Coker.

Saturday 28th April 2018 – MGs On Grass 1, Charmy Down.

Sunday 20th May 2018 – Wye Valley Social Run.

Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th June 2018- Bristol Classic Car Show, Shepton Mallet.

Sunday 8th July 2018 – Summer Picnic, Iford Manor, Wiltshire.

Sunday 15th July 2018 – MGs On Grass 2, Claverham.

Sunday 27th August 2018 – Wessex Sprint, RAF Lyneham (provisional).

Saturday 8th September 2018– Wiscombe Hill Climb.

Sunday 23rd October 2018 – Autumn Social Run, TBA.

Sunday 14th October 2018 – Kimber Car Trial, Pagans Hill.
