Chairman’s Notes 12 Sept 2018

The Wiscombe hill climb is over for another year.  A very successful meeting where the weather was kind to us and the rain held off until after the presentation of awards.  A short report is available at http://www.mgccsw.com/events/event-reports/wiscombe-hill-climb-2018/ with a link to the full results list.

A huge thank you to Bruce Weston and his Deputy CoC Jon Pittard for a well organised and run event.  A big thank you also to all the marshals that turned up on the day.  Without your support the event could not run

There are some photographs of the Hill Climb in the 2018 gallery.  They were supplied by Colin Murrell, Simon Lott and myself.  Mine and Simon’s photos are cars in the paddock, as we are not allowed to take photos when marshalling, however Colin has done a great job as usual, focusing mainly on the MMM MGs.  I am also awaiting some photos from Pete Opie, Car Club Director for the SW Centre, and I will add those to the gallery when I get them.

The next event is the Autumn gathering at Haynes Motor Museum.  This has been organised by our youngest member, Oliver Lock.  The event will take place on September 23rd and details can be found on this website at http://www.mgccsw.com/event/autumn-social-run-2/

Our last competitive event of 2018 will be the Kimber Car Trial at Pagans Hill Farm.  I have updated the  event details and added the Supplementary Regs and an entry form.  These can be found at http://www.mgccsw.com/event/kimber-car-trial-3/ .

I am away for the Autumn Gathering, however, I look forward to seeing you at the Kimber Car Trial either as a competitor, marshal or spectator.

Other Events

I have had an email from Bob Slater, Secretary of the Launceston and North Cornwall Motor Club Tamar Classic Trial 2018, inviting MG car Club members to participate in the event if they wish, particularly in the Clubman’s category which does not require a Competition Licence.  The event will take place on Sunday 21st October 2018.  Regulations and Entry Forms are available on the following links: –
