AutoAero Charity day SUNDAY 3rd July 2011Welcome to the annual South West MG Car Club Picnic. This year again the event is at Henstridge airfield in Somerset. The airfield is a mile and half east of Henstridge village on the A30 and through the industrial estate. Henstridge village itself is roughly half way between Sherborne and Shaftstbury. This time we are delighted to welcome the Kevin Crumplin who will give a special session over in the hangars on how he rebuilt three Tiger Moths at Henstridge over the winter. Kevin was a navigator in Sea Vixens during his time in the Navy but he tells me that his favourite vehicle was his MG TC, and who can argue with that! So, please invite friends and family to come along as well as interested members of the public. If any of your friends intend to fly in they can contact me for the details or go straight to the Henstridge website, no prior permission required and both avtur and avgas are available. As usual any profits will be donated to the Air Ambulance Appeal and local charities. This time we are on the airfield of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and their helpers will be coming over with the raffle tin and our usual fabulous prizes. You are welcome to bring your own picnic; teas and coffees are available from the clubhouse and we can advance book for lunch (menu available on the day). I would appreciate advance bookings so that we can get the food. This advance entry and entry on the day is £8 for car and occupants for members and visitors. MG Car Club members are parked in the special paddock next to the flightline. Come along and enjoy the day. For Advance Booking please detach and send the Entry Form, SAE and Cheque to: You can download the Entry Form or the poster to display somewhere! |
