18 MGs parked in the car park of the Cross Hands Hotel, Old Sodbury prior to setting off on a picturesque, 35 mile run through the lanes of South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire to the beautiful village of Lacock. Coffee was made available by the hotel for those who required it.

At the start of the run, was through the Badminton Estate and continued through Villages such as Hullavington, Grittleton, Yatton Keyell, Biddestone, Broughton Gifford, and finally Lacock Village. The MGs parked together in the National Trust, Lacock Abbey car park.

Some of the members chose to eat in the Stables Café whilst the others had picnics on the grass surrounds of the car park. After lunch, members visited the Fox Talbot Photography Museum and Lacock Abbey, where scenes from major films were located, The Cloisters were used as Hogwarts (Harry Porter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and Chamber Of Secrets) and The Abbey Courtyard (The Other Boleyn Girl).

I would like to thank Andrew and Sue Owst for the official paperwork and planning the route.
