Kimber Classic 2017 Results

Kimber Classic – A great day with excellent weather, a route of around 90 miles though superb Dorset and Somerset country side.  Commenced at Lanes Hotel, West Coker, near Yeovil with lunch stop at Camelot Inn, South Cadbury.  Finish near Castle Carey.  Many of the competitors stayed at the Lanes Hotel and there was a special evening dinner laid on.

Mainly MMM entry and seven entries from Holland.  However the Kimber Trophy which is awarded to the best MG in Classes 1-3 i.e “square riggers” was won by Edward Wilkins in a very nice red TC and it was Edward’s first attempt at trialling!!  Well done.

A most excellent event–with beautiful weather. I think the later date works well. Many thanks to all the organisers and marshals who made the event possible, I know at least one who came all the way from West Sussex when he heard that we were short of marshals !

It is just a wonder to me how many members come all the way from Holland to the enter and yet how few from the Bristol/Bath local…..
