Chairman’s Chat 20th May 2025

With this wonderful weather we are having now, it is ideal to get out and about in your MG.  I went to Brean Down today and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of driving my MG F with the hood down and ending up on the coast.  The views from the top of Brean Down, across the Somerset levels are wonderful.  Brean Down is owned by the National Trust and there is a lovely Café for afternoon tea, the scones are excellent and highly recommended.

The next event on the SW Centre calendar, is the Much Marcle, Naviscat on Saturday 14th June, organised by Bob Blackstock for the Midland Centre but based in the South West Centre, starting and finishing at Westons Cider Mill, Much Marcle. Full details, regulations and entry form can be found on the Event page Much Marcle Naviscat. This is a fun event which I first did a couple of years ago and won the Novice Trophy in my MGF.

The SW Centre Summer Picnic is the next event after the Naviscat. This will take place on Sunday 22nd June at the East Somerset Railway. Information can be found on the event page Summer Picnic.

I have a stock of MGCC SW Centre windscreen stickers available, free of charge, If you would like one (or more) for your MG (MGs), send a stamped addressed envelope to: Jim Lott, 67, Somerset Avenue, Yate, BS37 7SQ, with the number required and I will post them on to you.

Until Next Week
Jim Lott
Chairman
