Chairman’s Chat 27th May 2025

It is with great sadness that I have to report that Steve Dear passed away last Saturday. Steve was a long standing member of the MG Car Club and the South West Centre. No further details are available at the moment but I will keep you updated when anything is heard. The SW Centre Committee sends their condolences to Steve’s family on behalf of the SW Centre membership.

Some Centre news. After a discussion at last weeks Committee Meeting, we are going to be offering wearable merchandise with the South West Centre Logo.  This will include T Shirts, Polo Shirts, Hoodies, baseball caps etc.  The items will be supplied by Ace Embroidery (a company used by many of the MGCC CRBs) from a dedicated SW Centre Website.  The dedicated website is being built by ACE, and I will let you know when it is live.  Any profits made by the Centre from the sale of the merchandise will be donated to Charity.

Our next event on the calendar, is the Much Marcle, Naviscat on Saturday 14th June, organised by Bob Blackstock for the Midland Centre but based in the South West Centre starting and finishing at Westons Cider Mill, Much Marcle. Full details, regulations and entry form can be found on the Event page Much Marcle Naviscat. This is a fun event which I first did a couple of years ago and won the Novice Trophy in my MGF.

The SW Centre Summer Picnic is the event after the Naviscat. This will take place on Sunday 22nd June at the East Somerset Railway. Information can be found on the event page Summer Picnic.

Until next week
Jim Lott, Chairman MGCC SW Centre
