MG Club de France Auto-tour of Wales 9th to 22nd September

I have received an email from Christian Lissot, President of the MG Club of France, asking for a list of MG garages/workshops along a route he has planned in September, when a group of about 10 MGs (MGA, MGB) will be travelling from Portsmouth through Bath and Cardiff and around the West Coast of Wales and then back via Snowdonia, Ludlow, Worchester, Cheltenham, Swindon, Southampton and Portsmouth over a period of 2 weeks.  The list is required in case any of the MGs will need repairs/maintenance.  Email me (jim.lott@hotmail.co.uk) with the addresses of any MG garages that you think may be of assistance along the route please.

Request for broken RV8 Rear Lamp Assembly

I have had an email request from a new SW Centre member who is continuing to convert an MGB GT that he purchased in 1982 (long story) into a V8 but more towards an RV8. He is trying to locate a broken MG RV8 Rear Light assembly, Pt No ZKC6429, that he can use to reverse engineer and produce a pair of lights for his MGB GT. His name is Andy Rendall and he can be contacted at aerendall@btinternet.com if you can help him please.

Marque In The Park Alice Park Bath Sunday 26 April 2026

Rob Ford, from Club Lotus, is organising The Marque In The Park at Alice Park, Bath, on Sunday 26th April 2026, and is wondering if any MG Members would be interested in displaying their MGs at the event?  If you are interested, email me and I will pass on the details to Rob.  If we can get 5 or 6 MGs we could have a SW Centre Stand perhaps?

Version 5 of the Printable Calendar

Version 5 of the Printable Calendar is now available to download on the website.  Someone noticed some of the dates were different to those published on the website and one event was missing in V4 of the calendar.

90th Anniversary Year 2026 – 90 for the 90

To celebrate the 90th Anniversary next year, all Club members are invited to take part in “90 For The 90”, a Self-Guided Motor Tour around the Centre. The aim is simple – to get us all out enjoying our MGs. Let’s drive them!
The dedicated website for “90 for the 90” is now live click here to get access. The website includes a copy of the Birthday Card, which you can download and print if you need one before the end of January, when the February SF will be published with the birthday card for South West Centre members.
The challenge is easy, just select a destination from the list in the birthday card, take a digital photograph of you, your car, your birthday card and the location as evidence of your visit and submit a claim and photograph using the claim form accessed here.  We are not expecting you to visit all the 90 places, but there could be a prize for the MG car that visits the most different venues.
