Breakfast Meets
This Saturday, 14th February, sees a return to The Rowdey Cow, for our 2nd Cars and Coffee Breakfast Meet of 2026. Details are on the website using this link.
AGM and Spring Lunch Saturday 7th March 2026
The agenda for the AGM is now available on the website and the other documentation, reports, accounts etc. will be available shortly. Most of the Committee have been there longer than they care to remember, so any new members would be most welcome. If you feel you could contribute to the running of the Centre, we are looking to recruit some new committee members to bring in some new ideas. Meetings are Bi-Monthly on a Tuesday evening and held on-line via Microsoft Teams. Please let me know before the AGM if you are interested in joining us.
The lunch menu for the Three Magpies at Seend is now available on the website. I am co-ordinating the choices so the pub will have advanced warning of the meals required. If you are intending to attend, please let me know your meal choices as soon as possible please (jim.lott@hotmail.co.uk).
90th Anniversary Year 2026 – 90 for the 90
As the February edition of Safety Fast has now been delivered, SW Centre Members, who take the printed magazine, will have received their ‘90 for the 90’ birthday card. If you didn’t receive one in the magazine, please let me know.
Simon Lott (my son) has spent some time plotting each of the 90 venues on Google Maps and this is available by clicking this link. There is another document which gives the Postcode for each location and that is on the website and available at this link.
The ’90 for the 90’ challenge is easy, just select a destination from the list in the birthday card, take a digital photograph of you, your car, your birthday card and the location as evidence of your visit and submit a claim and photograph using the claim form accessed here. We are not expecting you to visit all the 90 places, but there could be a prize for the MG car that visits the most different venues.
90th Anniversary Summer Picnic
The Committee are making plans for the Summer Picnic, being held on 19th July, in the field next to Dave Mothersdill’s house in Tockington. There will be a live band to entertain, a free Pride of Ownership competition, and ‘A Cook It Yourself Gas Barbecue’ so far. We are also trying to source some Pub Garden games, if anyone knows where we can borrow/hire some please get in touch.
90th Anniversary Clothing
We have asked Ace Embroidery to produce our range of clothing with an alternative embroidered, 90th Anniversary Badge. The Badge has been produced, and it has been agreed. The existing clothing range will be available with either badge shortly.
