19th April – Bruce Weston Memorial Autotest on Grass – this charity event is now live, the Supplementary Regs and Entry form are now on the website at this link.  Now is the opportunity to try some grass roots motor sport and also as we are running a ‘Production Car Autotest’ in parallel with the Auto test, young drivers, 13years and older, can compete in a saloon car with a fully licensed passenger alongside.  This is the first of two planned Autotests on Grass at Claverham, the second is on Sunday 9th August.  This event is also on the ’90 for the 90’ birthday card so come along, with your birthday card, and get a photograph for the challenge.  If you don’t fancy competing (and why not?) then come and spectate or even volunteer to marshal.

26th April – ‘Drive it Day Clevedon Caper’.  A social run from the Ring O’Bells Compton Martin to The Ship, at Redland Bay, Portishead.  Details on the website at this link.

90th Anniversary Year 2026 – 90 for the 90

The entries for the ’90 for the 90’ challenge are coming in. So far we have had 22 photos posted to the website, with Mike Angwin leading at the moment. The oldest car is an MGA and the newest is an 2023 MG Motors HS

As the weather is improving (I managed to get my MGF from hibernation on April 1st) don’t forget to take your birthday card with you when you are out and about in your MG.  There is another Bank Holiday soon, so lets make sure we get out in our cars and share your photos with the rest of the centre.
Once you have a photograph, submit a claim and the photograph, using the claim form accessed here.  We are not expecting you to visit all the 90 places, but there could be a prize for the MG car that visits the most different venues.

90th Anniversary Summer Picnic

The Committee are making plans for the Summer Picnic, being held on 19th July, in the field next to Dave Mothersdill’s house in Tockington.  There will be a live band, ‘The Falcons’, and also a ladies choir, ‘In Accord’ to entertain, a free Pride of Ownership competition (a charity donation would be most welcome) , and ‘A Cook It Yourself Gas Barbecue’ so far.  We are also trying to source some Pub Garden games, if anyone knows where we can borrow/hire some please get in touch.

90th Anniversary Clothing

All items in the Clothing Store are now available with either the normal South West Centre Logo or the new 90th Anniversary logo.  Select the item you require, T-shirt, Polo shirt, Sweat Shirt, Premium Cap, Beanie, Hoodie, Fleece Jacket, Softshell Jacket, Shell Gilet, Soft Padded jacket, soft padded gilet or long sleeved shirt, then select the colour and size and then you have the option to select which of the two logos you require.  It couldn’t be simpler.  Very suitable attire to carry out the ‘90 For The 90’ challenge.
