Event Report – Much Marcle Naviscat Saturday 14th June 2025

Thank you for joining me yesterday for my Scatter at Westons Cider Mill. It was good to see a lovely group of old friends.
The weather was kind and I hope that you all enjoyed the drive to find my Clues, which I trust were not overly devious.
At the Beauchamp Arms in Dymock most of you counted four animals on the face of the pub sign – only two of you realised that there were another four on the reverse, giving a total of eight animals hanging.
At Sellack Boat you had to cross the rickety footbridge over the River Wye to find the code board on the south bank – a couple of crews didn’t think that I would cross the river!
The code board at the Viewpoint was partially obscured (deliberately) by a large fallen tree trunk, found by those who looked diligently, but unfortunately missed by one crew – it was still there this morning.
At the Stretton Grandison Park cattle grid, you all knew to beware of animals but you all missed the sign at the adjacent farm track to beware of dogs and decided instead that you should beware of poachers!
As usual a got in a muddle with results. I have now included points for the hydrant opposite the telephone box, which I had incorrectly written on my master sheet.
Congratulations to winners Chris and Paula Porter in their MGB and to the other award winners, Robert and Liz Renshaw MGTD, and my son Robert with Phil Waghorn in my MGB despite a four point penalty for late arrival at the finish.
A special commendation for Colin Bromley and Lucy in their vintage Austin 7, visiting thirteen clue points to finish fourth overall.

The final results are shown below.

Hope to see you all again on a future event.
Very best regards, Bob Blackstock.
