To celebrate the end of the MG 100 celebrations, we have had a request to supply up to 6 MGs with either a racing or interesting history to display with some Austin Healeys at the Castle Combe Autumn Classic Race Weekend. The request has come from the Healey Driver International Organiser, Joe Cox (who used to be an MG Car Club member along with his father who had a MMM car). The cars will be displayed in a large, carpeted marquee with 24-hour security.
In particular, Joe, is looking for any MMM cars with a racing or historic pedigree, an MGA (they already have an MGB), an MG Midget, and any post Abingdon cars including MG Montego, Maestro or Metro and newer cars like the MG F/TF if they have an interesting history.
If you have a car that you think would fit the racing pedigree or it has an interesting history and would like to have it on display, it can be for either Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd or both days. The display owner package being offered, comprises entry for both days with VIP Catering.
The racing programme for the event is that Saturday will be for cars from the 50s and 60s and the Sunday will be HRDC and HSCC cars, more details are available at the event website https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/autumn-classic-historical-racing-festival/
Please email me Jim Lott (jim.lott@hotmail.co.uk) if you think you can help.
The supplementary regulations and entry form for MGs On Grass 2 are now published on the event page https://www.mgccsw.com/event/mgs-on-grass-2-autotest/
Dear Sir / Madam,
I have read your intro and I’m interested in attending this event with my car. I understand that you maybe un interested as the car is a recreation although I believe it is a very authentic one, and the history of the original cars is quite historic. The car is an MGC GTS. Originally starting life as a factory red MGC GT as per the 2 factory race cars MBL 594E and RMO 699F. The car is now British racing green with red engine bay etc. We had the RMO 699F car along side this one when it was being restored. The car was made to exacting standards using an english wheel. It has an original set of JAP Magna wheels on it from the VHY 5H car which was raced by John Chatham in the Targa Florio. The car has been located at Moretonhampstead Motor Museum for a number of years and is on there website and literature. I have recently re-comissioned the car prior to possibly loaning it to the County Classics Museum in Taunton. I could go on about this car but maybe it’s best if you’re interested to contact me.
Kind regards,
Laurent Brindeau
