We had 16 Cars start from the Ring O’Bells Compton Martin. A huge thanks to Andrew and Sue Owst for organising the route and asking the landlord of the Ring O’Bells to supply the very welcome bacon rolls at the start.
Andrew and Sue had arranged the route for the Sunbeam Club (Andrew also has a very nice Sunbeam) and therefore they could not be at the start. It was my privilege to welcome everyone to the Ring O’Bells and ensure everyone had a copy of the route or was able to follow someone that had. Andrew sent the route and final instructions by email a week before to all those who had signed up, but it appears some people did not receive the email and therefore did not have a route. In future, when we send the final instructions to members, we will ask that you reply as soon as you receive them so we can follow up with some other way to distribute the documents if we do not hear within a couple of days.
As it is difficult to park anywhere near Clevedon Pier (venue 22 on the birthday card) Simon and I volunteered to go straight to Clevedon, park and find a suitable location opposite the pier, to photograph the MGs as they drove past the pier and then provide each driver with a witness photograph to claim on the 90 for the 90 website. We managed to photograph everyone and then we drove onto the Ship at Redcliffe Bay for an excellent lunch and a chat to those that took part.
Everyone I spoke to said the route was first class and easy to follow and Andrew and Sue were thanked by everyone.
