Firstly, we had hoped to be able to run our first competitive event of the year, MGs on Grass 1,on 24th April. Unfortunately, we had no option but to cancel this due to the venue, Charmy Down, previously being used for an illegal rave. . The illegal rave received quite a lot coverage on the local news including the disgusting state of the site the following day. There was so much glass and other debris left on the site, even some damaged cars, that once the area had been cleared, the owner has decided in the interest of safety he would plough up the whole field and re seed. Therefore, the site cannot be used until next year when we hope to be able to run this event once again but this year our event is yet another casualty of COVID.
