Chairman’s Chat 11th May 2021

With lock down easing, I am proud to announce The Wye Valley Social Run will take place on Sunday 23rd May 2021.

South West Centre members will be able to choose their own route to The Kymin, a National Trust property in Monmouthshire, Wales. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, only the gardens and outdoor spaces are open. This does mean that there are no facilities (including toilets) available as the Round House is closed, so please arrange to take your own picnic food. Social distancing rules will apply.

For those members on the Bristol side of the River Severn who would like to meet up before the run, I suggest we meet up in the car park of the Severn View Services at around 10:30 and then start the actual run from there. If you intend to start the run at Severn View Services, then please let me know by email chairman@mgccsw.com then I can ensure every one is there before we leave.

The Kymin is located 2 miles east of Monmouth and signposted off A4136. Please be aware that the road up to the Kymin is steep and winding with hairpin bends. The Website address is https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/the-kymin

I am looking forward to seeing you on the run
Jim Lott
Chairman MGCC SW Centre
