Chairman’s Chat 14 Sept 2021

What a wonderful day of motor sport was had last Saturday at the MG Car Club organised Wiscombe Interclub Speed Hill Climb. The weather was overcast with some sunny intervals and just a few drops of rain just before lunch. The event ran smoothly with 1 practice and 1 timed run before lunch and 2 timed runs after lunch. Very few red flags occurred which meant the runs were carried out in a speedy fashion.

The published results can be found here https://www.mgccsw.com/wiscombe-hill-climb-2021-results/ and photos of the award winners collecting their trophies from yours truly are located in a gallery here https://www.mgccsw.com/2021-gallery/nggallery/2021-events.

Bruce Weston and John Pittard have been involved in organising this event for too many years to remember and after this event are standing down from the organising team. I presented both Bruce and John with tokens of appreciation from the Car Club for all of their valiant efforts over the years. This does mean that we need to find qualified people to organise and run the event next year. This will be discussed at the next committee meeting.

The Car Trial being organised for Sunday October 10th 2021 at Dundry, has only had 1 entrant so far. If you are intending to enter please let me know (chairman@mgccsw.com) as soon as possible as we need at least 15 people to sign up to make the event viable. Information on the trial and entry form are available here https://www.mgccsw.com/car-trial-10th-october-2021/
