Chairman’s Chat 1st April 2025

Not an April Fool, but a new week so a new chat. Firstly I would like to draw your attention to the next Social Event, the Wyedean Social Run in 13 days time on Sunday 13th April. Bob Blackstock has provided me with the final instructions and the road book from the Severn View Services to Norchard Station on the Forest Of Dean Railway. The run is approximately 23 miles from the Severn View Services with the cars leaving at one minute intervals starting at 11:01, so signing on at Severn View, will start at 10:30. The final instructions and road book are downloadable for printing on the event page (Wyedean Social Run), however, if you have a problem with the printing, let me know (jim.lott@hotmail.co.uk) and I will bring some printed copies with me and they will be available at singing on. The final date for a ‘free’ entry is Thursday 10th April, after that it will cost a £5.00 late entry fee.

The next MGCC event after the Wyedean Social Run is ‘The Return of Old Number One to the Lands End Trial’ celebrating 100 years since Cecil Kimber had his first run on the event when he entered the trial in the Kimber Special (Old Number One). The car will be on display at various locations over the weekend and full details of the event and entry form can be found here Old Number One on the Lands End Trial

Following on from Sunday’s Breakfast Meeting at the Crowns Café, I have written an event report, with some photos which is available at this link 30th March Breakfast Meet.

Thanks for organising Martyn, and it was great to meet everyone with “Margot” the MGBGT Jubilee… I will try this year to attend more SW centre events
