Chairman’s Chat –14th April 2026

Summary; BW Mem Autotest next Sunday, AV8 Breakfast Report, next April Event, 90th Anniversary Year, Centre Facebook Page

19th April – Bruce Weston Memorial Autotest on Grass
This event is next Sunday and is the first of our two Autotests on Grass at Claverham Court Farm.  As this is the Centre’s 90th anniversary we are dedicating the event to Bruce Weston.  Bruce for many years, was the backbone of our Centre, being chief organiser of the Wiscombe Hill Climb, the Kimber Classic Trial and the two Production Car Trials we held.
It would be great to see a large entry to this event in honour of Bruce.  Bruce’s son, Mark, will be at the event with Bruce’s TC and there will be a charity collection for the Dorset Air Ambulance, a charity suggested by Mark, as Bruce was a keen supporter of this charity.
The Supplementary Regs and Entry form are now on the website at this link.  Now is the opportunity to try some grass roots motor sport and also as we are running a ‘Production Car Autotest’ in parallel with the Auto test, young drivers, 13years and older, can compete in a saloon car with a fully licensed passenger alongside.  The second Autotest is on Sunday 9th August and this will be dedicated to Dave Coppock, another long serving member of the Centre and the previous organiser of the Autotest at this venue.
This event is also on the ’90 for the 90’ birthday card so come along, with your birthday card, and get a photograph for the challenge.  If you don’t fancy competing (and why not?) then come and spectate or even volunteer to marshal.
