Chairman’s Chat 31st August 2021

I have published the provisional SRs for the South West Centre Car Trial taking place on October 10th at Dundry, South of Bristol. This is the first time the event will be run since loosing the Pagan’s Hill Venue after our last Car Trial in 2018. Details can be found here

Following on from a Committee Meeting last week, we have decided that due to the pandemic, there are too few events to score in the South West Centre Drivers Championship this year, so it has been cancelled. This also means that there will not be a dedicated dinner and awards evening. Individual trophies will be given for the events taking place (MGs On Grass and the Car Trial) at the Christmas Meal at the Ring O’Bells Natter or will be posted to the recipients.

I have had a request from Ian Beningfield, Competitions Secretary (, for any trophies that people won in the 2019 Championship to be returned to him as soon as possible please.

We have also had invitations to 2 events on the 17th October, The 74th Tamar reliability Trial organised by Launceston & North Cornwell Motor Club (Regulations here and the entry form here Contact Bob Slatter, and a 12 car rally being organised by Bob Blackstock of the MGCC Midlands Centre (Regulations and Entry form here Contact Bob Blackstock
Both events are listed on the Event Page. I have also updated the Calendar of Events to Issue 6, which can be downloaded here

I have been contacted by Nick Dean to say that the Fox and Goose natter is still going strong, so has been re-instated on the natters page. If anyone attends either the 8 Bells Inn, Carisbrooke, IOW natter or the Rose and Crown, Hewish Episcopi natter, please get in touch with me as I cannot contact the natter leaders for these 2 venues and at present they are removed from the Natter venue list, email please.

Jim Lott,
Chairman MGCC SW Centre
